October, 18, 2022- Welcome and Check-in
WELCOME BACK TO APNNE
- Our first meeting of the year!
2021 | 2022 Season
April 2022 | Arts for Change
Guest Artist: Regie Gibson
ARTS FOR CHANGE
- Artist Regie Gibson joined us at the start of this meeting to discuss how he explores themes of social justice through his work and how presenters can help support subversive art for change.
- We also discussed what resources are available to support social and environmental justice for presenters such as APAP's 10/20/30 pledge and Ecostage's environmental pledge, placing ecological thinking at the heart of creative practice.
March 2022 | Presenting Beyond the Proscenium
Guest Artists: Neon Picnic Productions
Presenting Beyond the Proscenium
- Neon Picnic Productions joined us to discuss performing in nontraditional performance spaces. They touched on their performing experience at theaters and outdoor festivals around the world as well as their production work for Vermont Vaudeville (bringing life into underutilized rural theaters) and Highland Center for the Arts (producing their new outdoor projects: Winter Art Trail, Street Performer Series, and Snowlights).
February 2022 | Raising Indigenous Voices
Guest Abenaki Culture Bearer: Vera Longtoe Sheehan
Raising Indigenous Voices
We heard from Abenaki Culture Bearer, Vera Longtoe Sheehan, based in VT who joined the first part of the conversation.
NEFA's Program Director of Dance, Indira Goodwine, joined us to discuss the New England Now platform happening March 18-20 in Boston as the final component of the New England Regional Dance Development Initiative (RDDI).
This will be an opportunity for presenters to become acquainted with the range and depth of the dance artists, creative processes, and community engagement approaches from the New England region. The weekend will include meetings, social and small group sessions, designed to provide deeper dialogue between participating and curated artists with regional curators, presenters, and producers.
Adrienne Petrillo, NEFA's Senior Program Director, New England Presenting & Touring, Center Stage, shared updates and important information for the March NEST grant deadline.

December 2021 | Booking Inspiration

We are excited for our final APNNE meeting of the calendar year on Tuesday, December 14th at 2pm. It's a popular topic, and one you won't want to miss, as we share Booking Inspiration.
After Idea Swap, inspiration was flowing, but how can we best follow through with the ideas shared both for NEST grants and general collaborations?
The need for a cooperative approach to booking tours is greater now than ever-- for artists and presenters alike. Let's discuss how we can work together to book tours that make sense on many levels for all of us. As many look to invite regionally based groups to their venues, we will invite neighbors across the Canadian border to join at the start of this discussion.
Folx were asked to fill out this Google Form to share ideas with the group and find possible partners.

November 2021 | NEFA's Idea Swap Social Hour
Our November meeting was a special Social Hour hosted alongside our sibling organization, New England Presenters in partnership with New England Foundation for the Arts.
Join New England Presenters (NEP) and Arts Presenters of Northern New England (APNNE) for a casual social hour. We will speak briefly about what these consortium groups are, what they do, and how you can stay connected. Next we will break out into social affinity groups to get to know one another better and decompress from the day. Please feel free to bring a snack and/or beverage, change up your virtual background, or join us in a wacky costume.
